Directions to Clarke County High School cross country course

Mansfield Farm    Berryville, VA

From I-81   (Strasburg directions)

Take Route 7 East towards Berryville

Do not turn off at the stoplight towards the high school (Business Route 7).  Continue on Route 7 East to the next exit (less than a mile -- Route 340) Take a left at the end of the exit and travel on Route 340 North.  Go about 1 ½ mile and you’ll see a black 4-board fence on the right, Elmington Farm.  Just past this is a left hand turn, Route 641, Lewisville Road.  Take this left turn.  Go about 100 yards and go through the gate on the left into the farm field. Look for directions for where to park.  There are two Johnny Blues there.  If you have a large team, it might be quicker to stop at the high school first and then proceed to the school.

From Route 7 West   (George Mason directions)

Follow Route 7 from Leesburg (Dulles Greenway is the most effective/efficient travel lane) towards Winchester.  Pass the first Berryville exit on your left (Business Route 7).  Go over the overpass, and take the second exit to Berryville (Route 340 North/South).  Take a right at the end of the exit; head north.  Go about 1  mile and you’ll begin to see a four-board black fence on the right, Elmington Farm.  Just past this farm is a left hand turn, Route 641, Lewisville Road.  Take this left; go through the gate about 100 yards down this road, on your left. Look for directions where to park.  See the last two sentences in the first set of directions.  Starting line is about ½ mile away.

From Route 340 North – (Manassas Park and Madison directions)

Either take I-66 to Route 17 exit; drive 8 – 9 miles, and take the left at the stoplight to get onto Route 50/17.  Continue to the Route 50/340 intersection; take a right to get onto 340 North.  Continue to Berryville; proceed through the stoplight to out of town.

You’ll pass Food Lion on your left as you leave town.  Go under the Route 7 overpass.  Continue for about a mile and you’ll see a black 4-board fence on the right; just past there turn onto Route 641 on your left, Lewisville Road; proceed into the farm gate, about 100 yards down the road on your left.  Park close to the Johnny Blues.  Starting line is about ½ mile away.

If coming from Dinosaur Land – Route 340 North  (Rappahannock and Madison directions)  Take Route 340 North through Front Royal; continue on Route 340/Route 522 North.  At Dinosaur Land , turn right to stay on Route 340 North.

Continue on Route 340 North to Berryville, about 12 miles; follow the above directions to out of town and the course.

If you stop at our high school first and need directions for how to get there – let me know!  I can send those separate.  It will work if you stop there first and go to the bathroom as we have only 2 Johnny Blues.  The course is less than 4 miles from the course!!

Please remember we are guests of Mansfield Farm; stay off the horse jumps, and please park your car in the parking lanes provided near the in-gate.  We will have trash containers for your waste and a recycle container for your bottles.  Please respect the property owners!

To get to the course from the school -----

As you leave the high school turn left to get on Westwood Road; drive to the stop sign; turn right onto Business Route 7.  Go about ¼ mile and turn left onto Jackson Drive (There will be a stone wall on your right.)  Drive to the stop sign; turn right; go to the stoplight, turn left. This is Route 340 North.  Go about 2 miles and turn left onto State Route 641, Lewisville Road.  Farm gate to go in is about 100 yards down Lewisville Road on the left.  Pull back and park close to the Johnny Blues.

Please remember we are guests of Mansfield Farm and act accordingly.

This also means to enjoy the countryside but leave the horse jumps alone.

If you could, let me know approximately how many girls and guys you will have competing ahead of time.  There will be two separate races.  The boys will run as close to 5 p.m. as possible, with the girls’ race to follow.
